The 16th ICA Congress opens with a bang

16th International Council on Archives Congress was successfully opened on 22 July 2008 by Rt. Honourable Dato’ Seri Haji Mohd Shafie b. Haji Apdal, Ministry of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Malaysia. Accompanying him during the launching was Rt. Honourable Mr. Teng Boon Soon, Deputy Minister of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Malaysia, Mr. Lorentz Mikoletzky, President of the International Council on Archives, Dr. Muzahet Masruri, Secretary General of Ministry Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Malaysia and Mr. Sidek Jamil, Director General of National Archives of Malaysia.

The Flying Reporters wanted to know what participants were expecting to get from ICA Congress 2008. Several participants were asked whether they thought that the topics of the conference addressed their concerns and interests. In addition, we were curious about their feelings regarding the location of ICA Congress 2008; this being the second time that the Congress is being held in Asia.
