Since May 2003, Claire Sibille has been responsible for standardization of archival description at the Directorate of French Archives (DAF). In this capacity she has to control catalogs and finding aids prepared by French public archives and she is the chair of the Working Group for Encoded Archival Description (EAD) within the French Association of Standardization. Claire is a graduate of the École nationale des Chartes and of the Institut national du patrimoine. Before joining the staff of the Directorate of French Archives, she worked for many years at the French Army Archives and at the National Archives in Paris (Personal and Family Papers Section). Claire is also Co-Secretary of the ICA Committee on Best Practices and Standards and a member of the EAD International Working Group. Depuis mai 2003, Claire Sibille est responsable de la normalisation de la description archivistique à la direction des Archives de France (DAF). Dans cette fonction, elle a à contrôler les catalogues et instruments de recherche préparés par les services d’archives publics français et elle préside le groupe de travail pour la Description archivistique encodée (EAD) au sein de l’Association française de normalisation. Claire est diplômée de l’École nationale des chartes et de l’Institut national du patrimoine. Avant de rejoindre la direction des Archives de France, elle a travaillé plusieurs années aux Archives de l’armée de terre et aux Archives nationales à Paris (section des archives personnelles et familiales). Claire est également co-secrétaire du Comité des normes et bonnes pratiques de ICA et elles est membre du groupe de travail international EAD.
