Biography:

María José Justo is director of the Historic University Archives of the University of Santiago de Compostela from 1987 to present.

Degree in Geography and History specialized in Contemporary History from the University of Santiago de Compostela. She was official Staff employee of the Assistants Corps of Archives, Libraries and Museums 1981. Official Staff employee of the Faculty Corps of Archives and Libraries (Archive Section), with title awarded by the Secretary of State for Public Administration on April 7, 1986.

Doctoral Courses and thesis at the University of Santiago under the title "The Notaries Institution in Santiago from the 16th to 19th centuries", under the direction of Xosé Ramón Barreiro Fernández. Director of the Pontevedra Historic Archives, 1986-1987, the year in which I became involved with the Historic Archive of the University, to present. She is member of the L'Institute International d'Histoire du Notariat since 1996. She is member of the Notary Archives Section of the International Council of Archives since its founding at the International Congress of Vienna in 2004.

She is member also of the Teaching and Training Section for Archivists of the International Council of Archives attending international bi-yearly meetings.

 

María José Justo est directrice des Archives Historiques Universitaires de l'Université de Santiago de Compostela. Gradué in Géographie et Histoire par l'Université de Saint Jacques de Compostelle. Elle est membre du corps Facultatif d'archivistes et Bibliothécaires (Section Archives) avec le titre donnée par le Secrétariat d'Etat des Administrations Publiques dès 1986.

Elle a fait les courses de doctorat et elle a présenté la thèse á l'Université de Saint Jacques avec le titre « L'Institution Notariale á Santiago dès 16e siècle au 19e siècle ».

Elle est membre du l'Institut International d'Histoire du Notariat dès 1996. Elle est membre aussi de la Section d'Archives Notariales du Conseil International des Archives.

Elle est membre aussi de la Section pour l'enseignement et formation de l'Archivistique du Conseil International des Archives.
