Biography:

Albrecht Haefner studied electrical engineering at the Technical University in Munich. Mr. Haefner started his career as a project and sales engineer for public address, radio, and industrial TV systems before he ended up with SWR (Suedwestrundfunk), one of the public service broadcasting corporations in Germany. He worked as a personal assistant of the Technical Director, then was entrusted with the management of the radio sound archives. In parallel, he was asked to undertake special assignments such as the introduction of digital mass storage technology.

Since 1985 Mr. Haefner has been an active IASA member and held the position of the Secretary-General 1996-2002.

Mr. Haefner has also engaged in various activities as consultant and trainer for AV archiving at seminars and workshops in Europe and also overseas in Iran, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, China, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Mexico, Jamaica, Malaysia and the Philippines. He received the “IASA Recognition Award for Training and Development” in 2004 and 2005.
