Biography:
Roger Craig Following an earlier career in Biomedical Science, as Director of a Canadian hospital laboratory, Roger moved to the Isle of Man, British Isles, in 1973, training as an Archive Conservator. In 1984 he was awarded a Churchill Travelling Fellowship to visit Spain and Japan to further study the treatment of microbiodeterioration of archives. In 1991 he moved to Grand Cayman to assist with establishing a National Archive for the Cayman Islands government. In 2005 he was promoted to Director of the National Archive. During his career he served as Secretary and Chairman of the Society of Archivists Conservation Group, with particular emphasis on the Society's training scheme. He has presented papers at Conferences for the Society and the Institute of Paper Conservation in Britain and for CARBICA in the Caribbean. Since moving to the Cayman Islands, in addition to being an officer of the ICA, he has conducted surveys of, and given advice to, a number of Caribbean countries on all aspects of Archive Preservation.
