Biography:
Mark Cave is Curator of Manuscripts/Oral Historian of The Historic New Orleans Collection. He is currently on the Steering Committee of the Oral History Section of the Society of American Archivists, and former chair of the Acquisitions and Appraisal Section. He is the author of Saving Wednesday's Child: A Short History of The Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. After Katrina, he established an extensive oral history program to document the experiences of first responders. In addition, after Katrina he surveyed academic libraries as part of the Gulf Coast Academic Report Recovery Project, funded by the Mellon Foundation and operated by SOLINET (the Southeastern Library Network)
