Dr. Michael S. Brown is the Sung Kah Kay Assistant Professor in the School of Computing at the National University of Singapore. Dr. Brown research has been long focused on image-processing techniques for imaging and digitally enhancing archival materials. His PhD research was focused on a novel 3D imaging device that was used at the British Library for imaging damaged medieval manuscripts. The project discussed in this session is part of a government grant of approximately S$500,000 to research innovative hardware and software technologies for use in archival institutions.
