Biography:
Mrs. Sharon Alexander-Gooding a former Canadian Commonwealth scholar is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a Master’s Degree in Archives and Records Management and a postgraduate Certificate in Instructional Skills & Workshops. She holds a BA Honours degree from the University of the West Indies. As the Campus Records Manager/ University Archivist at the UWI, Cave Hill Campus she has coordinated and lectured in The University of the West Indies’ Certificate in Records Management since 2000.as well as lectured in the Master’s Degree Heritage Programme. Mrs. Gooding is in the final year of her PhD in History with a focus on the historical development of record keeping in the Caribbean region. She has also worked on numerous consultancies, technical reports and conference papers with records management implications both regionally and internationally. She is presently the Honorary Adviser to the Barbados Association of Records and Information Management {BARIM}, the Vice-President of the Caribbean branch of the International Council of Archives (CARBICA), and is the Association of Information Management Professional’s [ARMA International] International Region Director and Education Foundation Trustee for the period 2006-2009.
