Abstract:
Participants explore strategies for implementing ICA standards through analysis of recent information systems or descriptive models. This workshop focuses on application of ICA standards rules and concepts and on how they fit together.
Target audience:
Any professional whose responsibilities include developing integrated archival systems, describing records, or supervising staff who does that work (attendance limited to 30).
Overall purpose and significance of session:
To put the various descriptive traditions and practices in relation to ICA and to understand the principles of the development of an integrated information system which can include other components than the description of archives (authority files, indexes, lists, thesaurus, etc.).
Content description:
The workshop will be very interactive. The participants will work within small groups on examples of recent integrated archival systems. The workshop will include questions and discussion.
