Abstract:
Most of the projects concerning records and archives for developing countries are usually not taken into account because of a lack of competencies in the field of communication and project management. This workshop aims at delivering some key messages in order to present a project to convince partners and sponsors and then to properly manage it.
Target audience:
Archivists and records managers responsible for a project
Overall purpose and significance of session:
To enable records managers and archivists to transform their original ideas into well-organized projects that are capable of attracting grants from national, regional and international funding agencies. The session will also explain how to get a project accepted as part of ICA's new professional programme.
Content description:
The session will help participants to define: what is a project; to express key ideas/messages to deliver to potential partners; to adapt these messages to their own context, and to the philosophy of the funding partners. The core elements for a good presentation of the project will be examined, as well as the key factors to manage it successfully. Some concrete examples will be discussed, and participants will be asked to contribute actively.
