Abstract:
Based on the outcome of the EASTICA Seminar 2007 in Tokyo, the delegates from the national archives of China, Korea, and Japan will present their progress with digital records management and e-government. In the end, Prof. Sugimoto, the leading scholar of this field, will give a lecture on the latest digital preservation challenge.
Target audience:
Anyone who has interests in the session theme will be welcome.
Overall purpose and significance of session:
Current status of China, Korea, and Japan which have dramatic development of e-government system will be introduced in the session. We will discuss the common issues among the East Asian countries including character encoding.
Content description:
This session will provide the latest reports by the experts of digital records management in three national archives, China, Korea, and Japan. In addition, Prof. Sugimoto, one of the world authorities on metadata and Dublin Core will give a lecture and exchange views with participants.
