Abstract:
The Training the Trainer Resource Pack (Training Pack) is a set of practical online guidelines to help archives and records practitioners plan and deliver training for their local context. It includes advice on delivery options, learner profiles, organising facilities, teaching aids and evaluation. This practical and interactive hands-on workshop about how to use the Training Pack will be delivered in Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia. The printed material for the workshop will also be in Bahasa Melayu/ Indonesian. The workshop aims to support practitioners, who have training responsibilities, especially for introducing archives and records practices to a work area or community for the first time. A Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia translation of the Training the Trainer Resource Pack is on the ICA website under the Section on Archival Education and Training.
Target audience:
The target audience is Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia speaking archives and records practitioners who have some training responsibilities in archives and records, and need to prepare training activities for their local context. The workshop is an opportunity to develop professional skills.
Overall purpose and significance of session:
The Training the Trainer Resource Pack is an endorsed ICA Project. Having an interactive workshop in Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia will help participants learn about training activities in a language with which they are familiar.
Content description:
The Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia workshop will cover a range of topics: the purpose and structure of the Training Pack; lesson plans; learner profiles, adapting training activities to local practices; different delivery options; teaching aids, training in a cross cultural context; and using templates such as program schedules and evaluation forms. The workshops will use presentations, interactive activities, discussions and handouts to help practitioners make use of available resources when training people in their local context about archives and records procedures and practices.
