Malaysian royalty welcome national archivists for a high tea
July 25, 2008

The National Archives of Malaysia proudly organized a special function for all National Archivists at the 16th ICA Congress with His Royal Highness DYMM Tengku Syed Sirajuddin Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, The Raja of Perlis and Her Royal Highness DYMM Tuanku Fauziah binti Almarhum Tengku Abdul Rashid, The Raja Perempuan Perlis.

Rt. Honorable Dato’ Seri Haji Mohd Shafie Haji Apdal, Minister of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage and his wife Rt. Honorable Datin Seri Hajah Shuryani binti Datuk Haji Shuaib also attended the function. Members of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) were also in attendance.

It is indeed an honor to have the Royal couple who travelled all the way from the state of Perlis in the north of Malaysia to be with distinguished Congress guests from around the world.

A special cultural presentation, including a fashion show of ‘batik’ and ‘songket’ and a Joget dance, took place to the delight of the audience.

Guests were also served with traditional local food such as satay with onion, cucumber, rice cube and peanut sauce, curry laksa and roti jala with chicken curry.
