Biography:
Caroline Williams became Head of Research and Collections Development at The National Archives in 2007. Prior to that, as Director of the Liverpool University Centre for Archive Studies, she was involved in developing research, education and training for professional archivists and records managers. She is currently a member of the Bureau for Archival Education and Training in the International Council on Archives, a member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council Peer Review College and the former Chair of the Forum for Archives and Records Management Education and Training. Current areas of research interest and publication include the history and diplomatic analysis of the record and the interface between theory and practice. A recent publication is Managing Archives: Foundations, Principles and Practice (2006).
